Jordi is emotional

Jordi is emotional

We adopted Jordi on March 23 of last year--National Puppy Day.

We were so excited to get him, as was Lucy. They were best buds. They played perfectly together. Even when they were at the park with dozens of dogs, they liked playing with each other best.

Around May of that year we started noticing Lucy's discomfort with her leg, and stopped taking her to the dog park as much. We took Jordi on solo trips to get his energy out.

At first it was fine, but then he started lashing out at other dogs. It happened ever so often at first, and then it was happening so frequently that we stopped taking him to the park altogether.

It's been about 6 months of not going to the dog park, and he's become reactive towards dogs on the street and crazy around stray cats. The dogs are more easily handled than the cats. He can usually distract himself if we cross the street or get out of eye sight. But if there's a cat around, or worse...he thinks there's a cat around, then Jordejo (jordi-pendejo) comes out full force. There's a lot of loud (extremely loud) whining, pulling, and over all anxious behavior.

Lucy definitely has moments like these. And she even had her own phase and alter ego for when she's being a nightmare--Lucyfer.We've finally pulled it together, and are seeking behavioral modification help for Jordi. This has lasted a lot longer than any phase we've experienced before. Hopefully he can be his sweet self around dogs and cats once more
